Employee Highlight: LuAnne Barnet

Meet LuAnne Barnet, Comfort Keepers' new Business Development Manager.

At Comfort Keepers, our employees are our greatest asset, and our home health agency gained a valuable resource when LuAnne Barnet accepted the position of Business Development Manager with us. LuAnne has an extensive background in business development and operational management with companies in the healthcare services industry, and she’s keen to put it to good use for the benefit of our clients and employees. Education and Experience

In the first steps of her career path in the healthcare services industry, LuAnne started out with a BA in Psychology from Luther College and then entered a Master’s program in Counseling at Arizona State University. She knew early on that she wanted to help people.  “I have worked either with seniors or individuals with disabilities for most of my career,” she shares. Through her career, she has been dedicated to providing the highest quality services. I “have always been committed to serving individuals in the least restrictive environment possible and allowing people to either reach or maintain their highest level of independence,” she says. The choice to remain in one’s home is a topic that’s very near and dear to LuAnne’s heart.

LuAnne’s Personal Experience

Many family caregivers are torn between their inability to provide sufficient care for their senior loved ones and their elderly loved one’s desire to remain at home. “As my parents aged, they wanted to remain in their home as long as possible,” LuAnne explains. “They were not able to do so because there simply were not enough in-home caregivers available in that area.” Many families are faced with this same scenario and Comfort Keepers can be the answer for them.

“I wish that there had been a Comfort Keepers in their area to provide those services so that their wishes could have been upheld,” LuAnne shares. Consequently, her personal experience with elderly services means she has a real passion for serving seniors and enhancing peace of mind for their families. “I am very committed to the Comfort Keepers’ mission of helping others to realize the dream that my own parents could not.”

A Commitment to Excellence

LuAnne has extensive experience in the healthcare services industry. Prior to joining Comfort Keepers, she was CEO of a healthcare services company that delivered customized support to seniors and individuals with disabilities. She wore many hats in her role as President, including overseeing operations, human resources, finance, quality assurance, information technology, nursing / clinical, development / marketing, training and office management. As the Business Development Manager, she is looking forward to “working with the team to continue to build the organization, reach more people who would benefit from our services, and providing the highest quality of services.”

LuAnne will have the dedication of the Comfort Keepers’ staff behind her, and the staff, luckily will have LuAnne’s focus because her self-professed professional work credo is: “It’s not about me!” No doubt LuAnne will fit right in because all that we do is for the benefit of the client.
